Oh boy it's that time of year again where I waste all my money on a car! I need opinions. I want a 2-door RWD so the list of contestants so far is ;

1999 to 2004 SN95 Ford Mustang
2013 - 2020 Scion FR-S/ Toyota GT86 / Subaru BRZ
2008–2016 Hyundai Genesis Coupe
2003 - 2012 Mazda Rx8

Encourage me to make bad financial decisions!

As an '09 RX8 owner, if that's the route you go, I would def. get a series 2 model. 09+, a lot of improvements from the series 1 engines. Only downside is that there is a little bit less aftermarket parts compared to the series 1s.

If you haven't done any research regarding the renesis. This is a good place to start: https://www.rx8club.com/new-member-forum-197/ Check out the stickies.

You'll want the compare the results of the compression test to this chart to kind of get an idea of how long the engine will last before you'll need a rebuild.

I previously owned a 2007 but ended up selling it to get something newer and more reliable since at the time I was driving 40+ miles a day to work and back. Im not specific with the series 1 or series 2 I like both it's just a matter of finding one in decent condition. Even if I have to rebuild the engine to put new apex seals in it is fine. Also ended up impulse buying one that had a dead battery because Im stupid and I would've spent over $10,000 trying to get it back on the road.
