P.O.V. = Point of View
--CHAPTER ONE--
3rd person P.O.V|

Maia was still in bed, in the same position as the night before: One arm dangling off of the bed that is over a book that has fallen to the floor. Her legs are sprawled, and she drooled slightly on her pillow.
She stretches and gets up.
"Maia! Come down and eat! Your breakfast is getting cold!" shouted her mom from downstairs.
Maia grunts, then proceeds to lumber out the door in exhaustion. Her mom sees her.
"I've honestly never seen anyone as tired as you right now." Said her mom. She went over to Maia and felt her forehead. She frowns.
"You're not running a fever. What did you do last night?"
Maia grunts again. "I had read alot... I'm not sure till when."
"Well really late by the looks of it." Says her mom. "Your eyes are all bloodshot. Why don't you take a walk? That should wake you up."
Maia nods, grabs a piece of toast, and heads out the door.
Her house is near a forest, so she decides to go for a walk there.
The air is fresh, and the morning frost has mostly melted. It is autumn, and the trees are miraculous shades of red, yellow and green.
Taking a path she is less familiar with, Maia walks slowly, remembering all the landmarks.
Something shines a little deeper in a bush. Maia narrows her eyebrows and walks slowly towards it. Some twigs snap under her shoes as she approaches, echoing throughout the silent forest.
The shiney thing appears to be a strangely shaped rock. Maia looks closer and sees that it's yellow.
That's odd, rocks aren't usually yellow, are they? She thought. She reaches out and touches it...

--CHAPTER TWO--------------
1st Person P.O.V. (Maia's)|

I... I hear birds... And water, too? Where.. Where am I? Ugh, my head.. What happened? ..Oh.. That rock... I touched it. But that's the only thing I remember.
"Excuse me, are you alright?" I hear someone say. It's a girl's voice.
I flutter my eyes open slightly, but they shut again.
"I don't think she's okay, Ilia" Another voice said. This one was a boy's.
Ilia... Where have I heard that name before?
I suddenly feel someone lift me.
"Ilia, go get Epona." I hear the boy say.
The girl, Ilia appearently, splashes away. I am left with the boy stranger. He sighs. A hand touches the side of my face softly.
Okay, I'm officially freaked out now! I don't know where I am, and now someone is touching my face. Why can't I move? I must me mostly unconsious.
I hear a snorting noise coming from in front of me and then I hear someone mumble something.
I was traded to someone, and then they lift me up. Another voice sounds. It's very low, so I'm guessing it's a guy.
"So who do we have here?" the voice askes.
While all this is happening, I've been lifted onto what appears to be this "Epona" with someone sitting behind me.
"We don't know, Father. We found her just lying there." says the girly voice.
"Does anyone have an extra room or something?" asked the boy.
"Hmm, I don't think so... Is your attic area manageable for living, Link?"
I froze. Oh my gosh am I in the Legend of Zelda?! I couldn't be! But that stone... It was yellow. Was that a triforce shape? Oh dear lord, what's going on? Wait- why are they keeping me in an attic?
"I think so. There's some of Epona's old saddles and stuff up there but I can move those to the basement." says the boy, Link I am guessing.
"Okay, then let's go."
The horse, Epona I suppose. sets off for wherever the destination is. What's going to happen now?

--CHAPTER THREE--
3rd Person P.O.V.

Maia finally wakes up. She is in a bed made of straw, and the room smells slightly like the woods. She sits up in bed, and looks in a mirror hanging on a wall. Her eyes widen. Her clothes are different. She is wearing pants made of cotton, her shirt is like her old one, only without the T-shirt over it, and she isn't wearing a belt anymore. Her old pants, T-shirt, and belt are nowhere to be found.
My clothes must've changed when I entered the game, Maia thought.
"I think we should check on her now. She's been in there for hours, and nothing had happened. I left some water and bread in there if she woke up." she heard a voice from below.
Maia steals a glance at the bedside table, and indeed, there is water and bread. She crossed the room and slowly opened the door. Link is standing in the main entryway wearing his Ordonian garb.
"So I'm in Twilight Princess.. Hmm.." mumbled Maia.
Bo, the town leader and the third low voice she heard when they found her, is standing there talking to Link. He has a concerned look on his face, and then he notices her.
"Ah! You're finally awake!" he exclaims.
Link turns around and looks at Maia, surprised. His ice blue eyes look concerned.
Maia retreats slightly back into the room. She's known to be shy.
"Wait, we won't hurt you or anything; we just want to know who you are." Link says.
She stares at him for a moment.
"I... I am Maia" She says.
Link and Bo both look bewildered. They glance at eachother quickly, and then turn back to Maia.
"Hello, Maia. I am Link." Link says.
Maia already knew that, but she nods anyway. Bo also introduces himself, and then offers Maia a short tour of Ordon. Maia agrees.
Exitting Link's house, she steps outside and looks around. This is so surreal, she's in a video game! The bad thing is she doesn't know what's going to happen to the children and quite possibly, herself.
Maia tours Ordon, from the buildings to the townspeople. She meets Ilia, the girl that was at her rescue. She looks really excited to meet Maia for some reason. When Maia looks at the townsfolk, they all seem to have a suspicion about her. She doesn't know why.
"Now that you've seen the town, how about we go to the place we found you." Link offers.
Maia accepts, eager to see where she stumbled into this place. Ilia comes along as well. They walk through the forest that Link says is called "Faron Woods."
"Right here." Link says, motioning with his hand towards a gate that leads to a spring. Water falls gently down a two-footwaterfall and pools in an area about twenty feet wide.
"Here we are!" Ilia exclaims.
"Hmm.. This is Faron Spring?" Maia askes.
Link raises his eyebrows. "Yeah, how did you know that?"
"Um, just a guess." Maia replies. "I feel like I've been here before, like, before you found me."
"Hmm." Link glances uncertainly at Ilia.
Maia looks at the ground, feeling a bit awkward.
Ilia splashes forward and picks something from the water."Look at this. Is this yours, Maia?" She holds out her hand, and in it is a shiney golden necklace. At the end is a Triforce.
"This looks falimiar." says Maia. She's never seen it before, but it almost looked like the rock she touched. "I think I should keep it.." Maia takes the necklace and puts it around her neck.
"Hey, I think we should be heading back now, actually." Link interrupts. "Sorry, but I need to get ready to go to the ranch tomorrow."
Oh yeah, Link is a ranch hand, Maia remembers.
"Alright then, let's go." Ilia responds.
Maia says nothing and follows them.
Should I tell them about the children and what happens? She thinks. In the game, they get kidnapped.
"Maia, are you alright?" Ilia asks.
"Yeah, I'm fine! I'm just confused as to how I got here is all."
Ilia nods. "Where are you from?"
At this question, Maia decides to lie, not to freak them out more than they already are about her.
"Hyrule. Like, near Zora's Domain." she says.
Link raises his eyebrows again. He seems to do that often.
"That's pretty far. How did you get all the way over here?"
"That's the part I'm confused about. I don't know."
The group walks in silence and confusion back to Ordon. Maia and Link both say goodbye to th peppy Ilia, and then go to Link's house.
"Um, good night, Link." Maia says.
Link looks at her. "You don't want dinner?"
"No, I'm not really hungry." she says.
"Alright. Suit yourself."
Maia heads upstairs while Link starts dinner for himself.
That night, Maia dreams of her family. They are probably worried sick. She imagines her mother frantically filling out a missing person's form and her father pacing around the kitchen. Her brothers are probably playing Zelda. She wonders if they can see her.

End of chapter 3, I'm taking a break @.@

--CHAPTER FOUR-- 3rd Person P.O.V.

The next morning, Maia goes downstairs and notices a letter on the table. Written in quickly scrawled handwriting, it reads:

Maia-
At the ranch, come up if anything goes wrong or something. I'm expected to leave the village to deliver a sword to the royal family this afternoon. You can come to the farewell party if you want. (Its honestly not that far to Hyrule castle Im not sure why theyre throwing me a party.)

- Link

Maia laughs at the last comment and eats some bread that was left on the counter. She hopes that he doesnt mind that she took it. She fingers at the golden necklace that Ilia found yesterday.
Leaving the house, Maia notices that the children are standing in the front yard, discussing slingshots. Suddenly, Maia feels like she should tell someone about the whole kidnapping of the children. It would be the right thing to do, but then of she did, the village would be engulfed in twilight. Then Link would be a spirit and no one could help.
"Hey! You're Maia, right?" One of the kids named Talo shouts up at her.
"Yes, I am." Maia responds.
He looks brightly at her. "Do you know how to use a sword?"
Maia tilts her head and remembers she and her best friend used to stick fight. At least Maia has a little background experience.
"Yeah, a little, want me to show you?" Maia says.
The children cheer and next thing Maia knows, she's teaching them things from dodging to spin attacks. The children are delighted.
Maia then remembers that Link is at the ranch. For some reason, she has a longing to go watch him herd the sheep. At least Maia would have something to brag about when she returns to her world- IF she can return to her world, that is.
Maia leaves Links property and goes in search of the ranch. She remembers that it is just past the mayors house. When Maia approaches, Ilia is sitting there, waiting for Link to finish his day.
"Maia, how are you?" Ilia exclaims.
Maia grins. "Hey. Link's goodbye party is this afternoon, right?"
Ilia looks at her curiously. "Yeah, how did you know?"
"Link left me a note while I was still sleeping." Says Maia.
Ilia nods, and then she scoots over to make space for Maia to sit. After sitting in silence for a while, Link finally comes down the road from the ranch.
"Link!" Ilia exclaims.
Maia stands while Ilia sprints over to him. Bo comes out the door from his home and watches them.
"Such a good couple, eh?" He asks her.
Maia doesn't respond.
Link hops off his horse and jogs over to Bo who starts talking to him about the delivery to Hyrule castle. Link flashes a very attractive smile at Maia. Maia resists blushing and smiles back.
"Link? What happened to Epona?! She was injured, wasnt she? You were pushing her to hard AGAIN!" Ilia shouts.
Link winces, and Maia remembers this part with a smirk.
"Ilia, please, its not like he meant to hurt her." Maia says, standing up for Link.
She turns on Maia, venom in her eyes.
"No, but obviously, he doesnt care! Epona needs some more respect!" Ilia grabs Eponas reins and leads her away, murmuring softly to her.
Bo shouts after her, but she ignores him. Link looks hurt. Seeing Link that way, Maia takes off after Ilia, shouting her name. She ignores Maia too, but Maia still gives Ilia an earful about being nicer and more forgiving. Link finally catches up with Maia after a quick, worrisome word with the mayor. Ilia storms off.
"Ilia! I need Epona to deliver the sword on time!" Link calls.
Ilia ignores him and walks briskly off.
"Ill talk to her, Link." Maia runs to her without an answer, and finds that she's chased her down at Ordon spring, closer to the village then the Faron one.
"Ilia, mistakes do happen, you know that right? Im sure that it has something to do with me and yesterday, or when Link was ranching. Those goats can charge pretty hard you know." Maia argues.
"I know, I just wish hed show more sympathy towards Epona once and a while, thats all." She responds, scrubbing Eponas wound with the healing water of Ordon spring.
Blood from the cut seeps out into the water slightly. Just then, Link shows up at the gate.
"Ilia, Im sorry. I shouldnt have been so harsh on Epona. I was just trying to do my job, thats all." He says. Ilia looks at him.
"Link, Im sorry. I was too harsh on you. Im just worried that you might get hurt on the trip, and that maybe you wont come back..."
Link tilts his head in an adorably dorky way, like hes confused or something. Maia stifles a laugh.
"I will, dont worry." Link says.
Suddenly, Epona gets spooked and bolts out of the spring.
No! Not now! Maia thinks.
The monsters are coming for the children. They ride in and knock Link unconscious with a blow to the head. Maia leaps forward and catches him, but at the same time, Ilia is taken by the monsters. Some of the monsters ride by the gate with the other children.
"No!" Maia shouts.
She is hit in the head by another one of the monsters weapons, and she is knocked unconscious with Link in her arms, only to regain consciousness a few minutes later, after the monsters have fled and left Maia and Link. Link stirs and awakens. They both have welts on their heads.
"Maia? Where did they go? We have to follow them!" Link exclaims as if he was never hit in the head.
Maia points wearily towards the Faron woods. "That way. I'll come with you."
Link nods and they both run to the Faron woods. The only problem is that the black curtain of some mystical force is covering their path.
"What is this?" Link asks in shock.
Maia stares at it in horror. "Twilight."

A hand comes out of the curtain, and grabs them both, pulling them into the Twilight zone. They both scream. A monster that is a black figure with long limbs and a strange head studies them both. Its choking Link and Maia's ribs are being crushed. With her final struggles, Maia lifts one hand subconsciously, as does Link, and the golden Triforce shines on the backs of their left hands. The monster shrieks and throws them both away. Maia land, clutching the lower part of her rib cage. Link is struggling to get up, but he collapses again. Something is happening. they are both transforming into something.

The transformation from the black magic in the Twilight zone renders Maia unconscious again, and unknown to them both, someone is watching.

Maia awakens in a jail cell. Link is taking deep shallow breaths in his wolf form. Maia looks at herself. She is a tan colored wolf, with the same markings on her face as Link. I'm a wolf too! She realizes. Maia cant talk, so she can't awaken Link by saying his name. Maia nudges his side with a tan paw. He stirs, looks around and then gasps in dog form. Maia stands, but notices that she is chained to the floor by an iron clamp around her foot. Wait, this is that part with- Maia hears something behind her. It's a little imp with black and pale blue skin with light blue markings up the sides of its arms and legs. It wears a helmet that looks ancient, and one side of its covers a yellow eye with red irises. Minda!

"I found you!" she exclaims. She circles around Maia to stand in front of the jail cells gate and crosses her arms. Link growls at her and tries to stand in front of Maia, but he is chained to the floor as well.
Minda grunts. "You know, I was going to let you go if you were nice!"

Maia and Link both stop growling, but still stay alert for danger. Minda laughs.
"You humans are obedient to a fault, arent you? But your not humans anymore! Your beasts! Now, your probably wondering where we are; arent you?" She hovers in the air, and backs slowly away. A small ball of energy forms between her hands and Maia and Link's chains break to set them free. Minda continues backwards, and just when Maia thinks that she is going to crash into the door, she phases through it. She continues.
"Well, if you can get out of the cell, maybe Ill tell you!" Maia and Link look at each other, and start sniffing- because they're wolves- around the cell. Maia remembers that in the game, there should be a crate that you smash and then there is an area under that where they can crawl under the gate. Spotting the crate, Maia nudges Link again and show it to him. They both take a running start, and then attack the crate, smashing it to pieces. Link lets Maia go under first. She crawls under and then lets Link through. Once he's through, Minda has seemingly disappeared, only to suddenly pop up again to land on Links back. Link freaks out and tries to get her off.
"Stop it! Now, if Im going to get you out of here, you have to do exactly as I say! Like a servant, if you will." She explains.
Maia growls and lunges at her, but she dodges. Link gives Maia a look that says hes okay with it; he just wants to get out of here.
Maia nods, and then follows him and Minda as they start down the hall. Finding many different tunnels and things, they finally make their way out of the dungeons onto the roof of a building.

"Now do you know where we are?" Minda asks. Link shakes his head, but Maia doesn't do anything. She knows where they are because she has played the game before.
Minda rolls her eyes, and then continues.
"Now, theres someone I want you to meet. Go to that tower over there," She says, pointing to a tower in the midst of all the rooftops. They all set off for the tower. Suddenly, a new monster- something that looks like a dragon slash bird creature lunges at Maia. She quickly dodges, and then bite the things neck, sinking her fangs into its flesh. The creature screeches in pain and flaps off. Minda and Link both look at Maia surprised. Maia looks away and continues to the tower. Link runs after her. He gives Maia a thankful look, and Minda nods.
"At least one of these two can fight," She says to herself. Link snarls at her and they all continue on their way. Finally getting to the tower, they all jump in a window and get inside. They proceed up a staircase and then come to a large iron door. Minda encourages Maia on, and she pushes it open. A figure in a black cloak stands in front of a barred window, head bowed. It turns around and sees Link, Minda, and Maia, and lets out small gasp.
"Minda?!" It exclaims. "Is that you?" Minda sits up straight and crosses her arms.
"You remembered my name, what an honor for me." The figure looks at Link and then to Maia.
"Are these the ones that you were searching for?" It asks. Minda nods.
"Not exactly what I was looking for, but I think that theyll do."
Maia steals a glance at Link, who gives her a confused look.
Minda continues. "Poor things, they dont know where they are or what has happened to them. Why dont you tell them what you've accomplished to do? You owe them that much, twilight princess! Eee hehe!"

The figure looks away for a moment and sighs. It turns back to Maia.
"Listen carefully; this was once a land that flourished with peace and equality. However, just recently, an evil has taken this land. They attacked the castle, and I surrendered. The land has been covered in twilight, and the people have become spirits. Still, I remain its princess," The figure pauses, and then stands. It starts to remove its hood. A woman with blonde hair and blue eyes now stands before Maia. "I am Zelda." She finishes.
Minda looks up at her sympathetically. "You dont have to look so sad! I mean, is living in perpetual twilight really all that bad?"
Zelda crosses her arms. "This is no time for kidding, Minda. The monsters that have roamed Hyrule are looking for you. Why is this?"
Minda shrugs. "Why are they? You tell that to me!" She responds, laughing.
Zelda turns to Maia and Link.
"Time has grown short; the guard will soon make his rounds. You must leave at once." Minda shrugs and then turns to leave with Link. Maia follows, but glance back at Zelda on you way out. Go! She mouths.
They all now descend down the spiral staircase, only to be stopped my Minda as the guard opens the door at the bottom. Escaping out the window before they are seen, they are on the roof again.

"Now, I bet you would like to go back to where you first stumbled into twilight," Minda guesses, placing her hands on her hips.
Maia and Link nod, but Minda laughs. "Well dont you think that youre forgetting something?" She morphs into frightened Ilia, and then a screaming child from Ordon. Link growls. "You want to save them, dont you? Well little Minda here can help, but, in return for my help, you have to be my servant. Got it?" Before either of them can nod or shake their head, Minda teleports them back to Ordon spring.

Maia wakes up, lying on her side in the water. Ah! Im still a wolf! She realizes. Link stirs and gets up, also realizing that he is a wolf.
Mindas voice carries throughout the clearing. "I forgot to mention, although you have been returned to the world of light, your still a wolf! Now why might that be?"

Link starts to wander out the gate and Maia follows him, trying to remember what happens next. Again, they hear Minda.
"So, what now?" Minda asks. She comes out of their shadows and appears as a black figure, the only thing that is in color is her eye.
Link steps backwards.
"Hah! Did I scare you? I can thrive in your shadows, so you can talk to me whenever you two are in wolf form or human form if you want. So, now that you are my servants, I will need a sword and shield that will suit me so that I can help you. Come on, not much time! Eee hehe!" Maia looks at Link and he nods for her to follow him. He leads Maia back to Ordon Village . To her surprise, monsters infest the forest, and they have to battle them. Link finishes off two, and Maia defeats one.
Continuing on their way, Link leads her to the miller's home. Maia knows that the shield is hidden here, and the sword at the blacksmiths house. Bo and one of the townspeople are discussing something in front of the door, so they can't get in that way. Maia spots an open window and shows Link, who looks for a way to get up there. Minda pops out of your shadows.
"I see a way," She says. She points to a ramp that is leaning on one of the roofs. There are a few platforms that they could jump to once Maia got to the roof, and then proceed to get the shield inside the house. "Maia, why dont you get the sword? It should be in the blacksmiths home. Link and I will fetch the shield." Maia nods and goes her separate ways. Nearing the blacksmiths home, Maia hears him talking to his wife about going to track down the monsters that took the children. Maia ducks and goes around the back of his house, being careful not to gather his attention. Using her wolf senses, she finds a spot where she could dig under and into the house. The floors inside are dirt, so she can get in. Spotting the sword, Maia grabs it in her teeth and then cover the hole she dug.
Maia runs back to Link and Minda, who have the shield.
"Very good, you two," Minda says. "Lets go back to twilight!"
They all run back to the Faron woods, where the twilight curtain stands. Before they can get to it, a voice calls weakly from Ordon Spring..
"Come... Come to my spring" Maia and Link proceed to go in. "Beware. A shadow being approaches" Rocks that have strange details like the ones on Mindas arms glow red after they fall from a portal that opened up in the sky. A shadow being, like the one that pulled you into twilight, drops from the portal and attacks Link. They both attack back, jumping on it and then repeatedly biting it. It finally dies and then goes away in a small explosion like the ones that you see when you play the game. The rocks disappear and then the voice begins to speak again.
"That was a shadow being. It was here to steal the light that I possess." A golden orb rises out of the spring, and then a figure of light takes the shape of one of the Ordon goats that Link herds at the ranch. "I am Ordona, the light spirit of the Ordon providence." It explains. It then goes on to talk about how whenever his brethren, the other light spirits, gets their light stolen, the land that they protect descends into twilight. He says that they need to fill a vessel of light with tears of light to release the area back to normal. They are finally dismissed on their quest, and then they enter the twilight realm.
After Minda lets Maia and Link into twilight, they find the light spirit of the Faron providence, and they receive the vessel of light, they can start to hunt for the evil bugs that house the tears of light. Along with Minda, Maia tracks down the last ones and then restore the area to light. Minda, in her shadow form, hops off Link and pauses in the air.
"Well, I guess the Faron providence has been restored, but whats so bad about twilight? Oh well, see you soon! Eee hehe!"
She vanishes, and then the Faron spirit emerges and takes the shape of a lemur.

I'm going to end the chapter there, I'll continue later @_@ It's long enough as it is!!

--CHAPTER SIX--
3rd person P.O.V.

"Thank you, young ones. I am Faron, spirit of the Faron providence. This land has been restored to its original terms, thanks to you. Now listen carefully. There is a legend that three people in this land hold one part of the Triforce. One of them though, is thirsty for power and wants complete rule of Hyrule to themselves. There are two heroes who are chosen by the goddesses to protect the land from evil. You two are those heroes. Look at your awakened forms!" Maia looks over at Link, who is in his classic green tunic and hat. She looks at herself. She is dressed in a green robe, layered with chain mail and then a white undershirt. Her boots are similar to Links and she has a belt around her waist and one slung around her shoulder. She basically looks like a female Link, minus the hat.
"I am... a hero?" Maia mutters.
"Now, both of you have special powers. Link, you possess the triforce of courage. You will be courageous and strong. Protect Maia." Says Faron.
Link nods.
"Maia, you possess the triforce of wisdom. You can see into the future, and you will be a reliable source when you are both troubled or have run out of ideas."
Thats not right! Maia thinks, Zelda is supposed to have the Triforce of wisdom! Did I take it from her?
"Go forth, brave heroes. Save Hyrule!"

Maia turns to Link and they both gawk at each other, wondering what to say. Maia notices that he has a sword and shield and she doesn't. It doesnt bother her though, because she can probably just buy one somewhere else.
"You..." Link starts. "Uh,"
Maia blushes and looks away.
"So what now?" she asks. "I think that we should save the children, but Im almost certain that Minda has a different idea."
"Oh yeah, Minda. Where did she go?"
"Right here, heroes!" Minda pops up again in her shadow form. "I cant be around those light spirits or else I will parish. But anyway, Maia you were correct! I do have a different idea. Remember how I told you that you were my servants? Why dont you go run me a little errand before your adventure?"
Link narrows his eyebrows.
"Thats in the twilight zone!"
"Really? Then why did you get me a sword and shield?"
"Um Well, I think were best off doing as she says, Link." Maia puts in.
Link frowns, but nods his head. "Fine. What do you want, Minda?"
Minda smiles. "Good. Now, the little errand that I need you to run is at the forest temple. Do you know where that is?"
Link nods.
"Okay then, lets go." Maia says and then Minda disappears back into the shadows. Link leads the way, and for a while they walk in silence.
"So Maia, what do you think of all this?" Link asks.
Maia thinks. "Well, I dont really know... First I pop up here, and now Im the wielder of the Triforce of wisdom! Its almost like this is a dream."
Link nods. "I understand, besides the whole part where you got here, but Im glad you did. I couldnt imagine going through this alone. Suddenly the whole fate of Hyrule rests in your hands," He pauses. "But enough of that, you are from the north, correct?"
Maia stares forward.
"Well, when I told you that, when Ilia was there... I didnt want everyone to feel like I was an outcast by saying..."
Maia can feel Links eyes burning into her side. She swallows. "That I was an outcast by saying that I am not from this land."
There is a short silence and then Link talks again.
"Not from this land? Then, where are you from?"
Maia looks at the sky as she walks.
"Lets just say that I hail from a place far from here." Maia looks at Link, and he nods.
"I can accept that," He says. "Ah, here we are. The forest temple."

A giant tree lumbers in front them, and the entryway has been blocked by a spider web.
"I have a lantern, so we can just burn the web. I dont know about the rest of the place though."
They both enter after Link burns the web, and find many rooms and monsters. Some monkeys have been trapped, and after they free them, they help them get to the bosss chamber. The mini-boss item that they received was a gale boomerang. After unlocking the boss door, Maia ventures in close behind Link. A strange plant grows out of some poison water. It looks almost like an eye. Maia remembers that the boss here is a three headed mutant plant thing, and that they need to use the gale boomerang to get a bomb into its mouth somehow.
"This place is weird," Link begins. Before he can finish, the plant thing rears up and the three heads start to attack.
"Link! Can you distract it while I launch the bombs?" Maia yells.
"Yeah! Go for it!" Link begins blocking the attacks and drawing the plants attention elsewhere while Maia starts launching bombs into the things mouth. The mutant plant swallows, and the head explodes into a rain of plant stuff. Maia grimaces and wipes slime off of her arm.
"Nice shot Maia!" Link calls, and she nods.
Again, Maia launches a bomb and the second head explodes. Now all that is left is the head with the eye. It falls, stunned, and Maia calls out to Link.
"Finish it! Its eye is the weak point!"
Link runs up to the eye, sword drawn.
"Rahh!" He thrusts the sword into the eye, and the plant rears and starts to thrash from side to side. It lets out one final screech, and then dies. Link calmly removes the sword and sheaths it.
"Hey, good job!" Maia was about to give Link a high five, but then the plant starts to dissolve into little black shards. They swirl together and start to form a strange piece of what appears to be stone that looks slightly like Mindas helmet. It has the little blue designs and everything. It falls into Links hands.
"Minda, is this you were looking for?" Link asks.
Minda comes out of Maia's shadow and nods.
"Thats it! Ill tell you more about it later, just because Im betting that you probably want to save the children."
Link gets a pained look on his face and responds.
"Yes, but how will we know where to look?"
"Lets leave Faron providence, after that we hit Hyrule field, and then I guess well do whatever we can from there."
"Sounds like a good idea. Lets go."
Minda nods.
"Alright then, I guess you want to get out of here." Minda creates a portal on the ground that Maia and Link step on. they are warped back to the Faron spring, and then you continue from there.
"To Hyrule field!" Maia shouts. Link laughs and they set off on their new quest.

Passing by a guy that lives near the gate to Hyrule field, Maia talks to Link about himself.
"So, what about you, Link? Where are you from?" She asks.
"I was born and raised in Ordon, not to interesting, I know." He responds. "Ive actually never set foot out of these woods until now."
"Sounds exciting, same here actually."
Link cocks an eyebrow. "Really? I- Oh yeah, you dont know how you got to Ordon."
Maia shrugs.
"Eh," She reply simplies. "Hey look, Hyrule field."
She points to a large expanse of grass billowing in the wind. Roads turn this way and that, and she notices that large areas of twilight cover the roads to other areas.
"Wow, its bigger then I thought it would be." Link says. He turns to the darker areas. "Is that more twilight?"
"Yeah, I think so." Maia replies. "Do you think we will need to be wolves again?"
Link nods. "Probably, lets set off for now though. I think that Bo said that a friend of his lives northeast from Ordon, so thats in that direction." He points to her right, towards a curtain of twilight.
"Alright then, lets go." Maia begins to walk to the twilight zone, getting more anxious with every step. She knows that they both need to perfect their skills as a wolf, and doing so will require going into the twilight realm, where they dont feel exactly comfortable.
The sun begins to set, and Maia and Link stop for the night.
"Lets make camp under that tree there," Maia says, pointing to a large oak that is growing in a corner of the field.
Link nods. "Looks good, Ill set up camp. Can you get some firewood?"
"Yeah," Maia says.
Link unsheathes his sword.
"Then youll need this." He hands her the sword, and she takes it eagerly.
"Ok then, be right back." Maia sets off in the direction of the forest to gather any spare firewood. While cutting a large chunk of wood from a dead tree, Maia realizes that you could make a good shield out of it. It would burn if fire touches it, but she thinks she can manage. After bringing two arms full of wood back to camp, Maia sets it down a little ways from the tree. To make a fire, she also gathered some rocks that make a spark when she strikes them together. The fire crackles and lights up the clearing.
"All done," Maia says quietly to herself.

Link comes over to sit by the fire with Maia. He is carrying two bed rolls. Maia takes one and spread it out on the opposite side of the fire as him. Lying down on her stomach, she stares blankly at the fire, but then remember something.
"Link, what about Epona?" Maia asks.
Link looks up at her, realizing that he has completely forgotten about his horse.
"Epona... I guess Ilia was right. I dont take enough care of her." He responds, gazing sadly into the crackling flames.
"Dont be silly! I bet you Ilia couldnt keep Epona calm while monsters attacked. She bolted when they did, so Im assuming that shes fine. Don't worry, Link."
Link considers and nods. "Youre probably right... I should check anyway."
Maia raises an eyebrow. "How?" she asks.
"Watch," Link says. He gets up and plucks a piece of horseshoe grass. He plays Eponas song, but nothing happens. Link frowns. Maia gets up and stands by his side.
"Dont worry, she'll be ok."
He nods, uncertain, and sits again. "I just hope shes not hurt."
Maia goes back to her bed roll and lies down again. The fire is dying, and her eyes begin to feel heavy. "So do I.."

That night, Maia dreams of the twilight realm. She ventures in and enter a destroyed village. There is a spring like the one in Ordon and Faron woods, but its much bigger. The light spirit rises out of the water and stares at Maia. A flash of white light blinds her, and then she winds up in a field. The monsters that took the children are there. They cant see her because this is only a dream. Colin, one of the children from Ordon, is tied to a long staff that the leader has. The monster leader is on his mount and gallops away. Maia looks to your right, and see Link on Epona, sword drawn. So Epona is alright! She realizes. He gallops off after the monster, and her dream ends. It is morning.

"Maia? Are you alright?" Link asks cautiously.
Maia sits up and realizes that she is covered in cold sweat.
She catches her breath. "Im, fine. I think that I just experienced my first vision though."
Link looks surprised. "Really? What was it about?"
She explains her dream, talking about the monster with Colin, and then Link rushing after him.
"Epona is fine." She finishes.
Link smiles. "I knew it! But, what about Colin?"
"We must hurry! I dont think that he has been captured yet!" Quickly, Maia gathers up camp, completely extinguishes the fire, and runs to the twilight entrance.

"Minda!" Maia yells. "Where are you?"
Minda comes out of their shadows again. She yawns and stretches her arms.
"Whats the rush? I was having a nice dream."
"Minda, please, let us into the twilight realm." Link pleads.
Minda shrugs. "Alright then, remember your promise!"
She floats into the twilight zone and then reaches out for them like the monster did the first time. On the other side of the curtain, Maia and Link transform into wolves. Crossing a small field, they enter a gorge.
"This is Karkario village, I believe. Is that correct Link?" Minda asks.
Link nods and they continue on their way.
Maia notices the spring and guides Link to it.
"Please," Says a weak voice. "Please collect my light..."
Their party receives the vessel of light, and then they look for the tears again. After finding them, the village is free of twilight and the light spirit explains the villages situation with the Gorons of Death Mountain. It disappears back into the spring, and Link and Maia turn into humans again.
Maia stretches.
"Ugh, its a relief to be a human again." Link says.
You nod."Mmm, I think the children are in this house over here" Maia says, pointing to a clay hut that is next to the spring.
They both run over to the house and open the door.

The children are sitting huddled with each other next to a man dressed in robes.
"Link!" One of the children shouts. They all run over to him and start hugging him. Link gets lost in a sea of children.
Maia laughs, and walks over to the man.
"Hello, I am called Maia. Who are you?"
The man stands. He has very dark hair and he is dressed in a robe with very detailed designs on the sleves and front.
"I am Renado, shaman of Karkario village."
Maia nods. "Well met. That's Link, if you have not already guessed." she says, pointing to Link.
He is still struggling under the children, and when he manages to, he waves.
Maia laughs again and Renado smiles.
"Quite the popular one. The children talked about him for days before you actually showed up. They idolize him." Renado says.
"Mmm."
Link finally manages to get up and come over to Maia and Renado.
"How did you find them?" Link asks.
"The monsters rode through here not to many days ago. My colleague and I thought that they were in need of rescuing."
"Well thank you for it. Who is your colleague?"
"His name is Barnes. He runs the bomb shop down the street from here. He is the only survivor here, besides my daughter and I." Renado then points to his daughter among the children.
She almost looks exactly like him. "Her name is Luda." He finishes.
Maia and Link nod, and then bring up the situation with the Gorons.
Renado frowns.
"The Gorons have lost their leader, Darbus. I believe that he was transformed into some kind of beast by dark magic, and then locked away in the Gorgon mines for the safety of the Gorgon residence." Renado explains. "To show that they are not weak without their leader, the Gorons have refused to let anyone come up the mountain. To gain their respect, you need to sumo wrestle with them."
Maia raises an eyebrow.

"Sumo wrestle?" She asks.
"It is their custom. I doubt that you can win, but there is one man who has, but only once. I believe that you know him as Bo."
Link looks up. "Yes, he is the mayor of Ordon."
Renado nods. "Go to him, and I believe that he will help you with this situation. Oh, and Link, there is a horse that was found, is it yours?" Link brightens.
"Does she have a white mane and tail?"
Renado nods.
"Then yes, that is Epona!" Link cheers.
Maia smiles. "Link, should I stay behind and protect the children while you are gone?"
Link nods. "That would be a good idea," Link glances around and says to you in a quieter voice: "Considering your vision, that is."
Maia nods.
"I'll do my best!" she responds.
Link salutes her and gallops off with Epona.
The children turn to Maia. "Wheres Link going?"
"Well he needs to go back to Ordon to let your mayor know about your location. He also needs some information about the Gorons." Maia responds.
The children nod sadly. "I wanted to play with him though!"
Maia frowns. "You can play with me," she offers.
The kids look at her for a moment.
"Nah, Link is better."
Maia raises her eyebrows, slightly offended, and turns away to take her position as a guard.

The sun sets, ending the day. The children have been playing with each other, and are now all tired.
Maia must remain awake all night. She sighs and sets up her bed roll outside the hut. She wishes she could be inside, but she must remain on guard.
"Good night Maia," Renado says, and then shuts the door.
Maia stares up at the moon. It is full tonight, and lights up the street through the town.
Maia sighs.
"Going it alone, huh?" A voice says.
Maia sits upright and look around.
Minda has stayed behind with her.
"Minda, why arent you with Link?" she asks, surprised.
Minda shrugs. "I get bored easily. Plus, I'd like to know more about you anyway. Your life seems more mysterious then his. Don't think that I dont listen in on your conversations you know."
Maia frowns.
"Its not that interesting, honestly." she argues.
Minda rolls her eyes. "Oh please."
"What about you Minda? You mysteriously appeared in our lives, and we dont know all that much about you."
Minda crosses her arms and sits next to Maia, cross legged.
"Well you obviously know that Im not from this world. I live in Twilight."
Maia nods. "What is this thing that you want Link and I to get?"
"Well, its called a fused shadow. If you havent realized, it is part of the rest of this helmet." She responds, pointing to her helmet, and then comparing the piece of it that you got at the forest temple. "You know, I never really thanked you properly for getting it. How about I stay awake and watch? I can wake you up if something happens."
Maia sighs of relief.
"Would you really? I would be grateful."
Minda nods. "Go to sleep."
Maia smiles and close her eyes. Before she knows it, she's fallen asleep.

The next morning Maia awakens, not remembering if she had any visions or dreams. Minda has disappeared, but wrote in the sand with a stick: Nothing happened.
Maia smiles, grateful for the offer that she gave, and erases it with her foot. She stretches and gets up.
Smells of breakfast from inside the hut draw her in to eat. When she opens the door, Renado looks up.
"Ah, Maia, everything went well last night?"
Maia nods and looks at what he as prepared for breakfast. The children are already eating fruit, freshly baked bread, and some milk.
Maia helps herself to a little of everything. The children say nothing to her.
Why do they hate me? She wonders. She ignores them too and after she finishes, she resumes her guard position outside. Colin and one of the other kids are playing in the middle of the street. Suddenly, the ground begins to shake. The monsters break into the village and are heading for Colin. My vision is coming true! Maia realizes in horror.
"COLIN! WATCH OUT!" Maia yells.
She runs over, and before the monsters can get to him, Maia pushes him out of the way, putting herself in danger. The shield that she made is in her hand, but it cannot overcome the monsters weapons. It smashes through Maia's shield and splinters lodge themselves into her hands.
Maia screams in pain, and the monster hits her again, lighter on the head to knock her out.
They pick Maia up.
During all of this, the children have fled to Renado who is watching helplessly from in front of the hut.
"MAIA!" A voice roars.
Maia turns her now fading gaze to the entrance to the village. Link rides in at full speed on Epona, and he has a look of pure hatred for the monster on his face.
Link.. Maia murmurs.
The monster begins to ride away on its giant pig, and ties Maia to a staff. My vision was of.. Colin and because I saved him.... Its me now... Maia loses consciousness.

Ending the chapter there, expect chapter 8 later!

Maia..

..Maia? Please

..Maia!

The voice seems to be closer with every shout. Maia's eyes flutter open. She is in Links arms, lying down in the spring. The water is healing, and she feels herself gaining strength with every second. The children are crowded around her with scared looks on their faces. Especially Colin, who called her the second time.
"Link, Colin... Everyone." Maia murmurs. Links face is relieved.
"She's alright!" One of the kids exclaim.
Maia tries to move her hands to touch her face, but they are still covered in splinters. Maia grits her teeth in pain.
"Easy..." Link says soothingly.
He props her up so she can now sit upright. Maia looks at Link.
"You saved me. Didn't you?"
He grins and nods his head. "Trust me that pig wasnt easy to defeat."
Maia laughs softly, and then turns to Colin.
"Are you alright? You know, I kind of pushed you before."
He smiles. "Im fine, thanks to you. That was really heroic."
Maia smiles.
"Thank you." she winces in pain again.
"I believe that she needs rest and medical attention," Comes Renaldos voice.
Maia looks up at him and nods. Maia holds onto Link and he helps her slowly up. She is escorted inside the old inn and set on one of the beds. Renado begins to remove the splinters, and Link pulls up a chair to support her. The whole time, Maia is gritting her teeth in agony, tears roll down her face occasionally. Link wipes them away with a finger. After one of her hands is completely rid of splinters, her hand is bandaged. Maia stares at it discouraged.
"Looks like I can't help you in the mines, Link." Maia says sadly.
He grins slightly.
"Its fine, I can wait for you."
She notices that his shadow is taking the shape of Minda. She looks sad for Maia too.
Maia closes her eyes and tries to fall asleep with her hands throbbing and bandaged. She dreams of nothing.

Maia stirs and awakens the next morning. Link has fallen asleep, still sitting in the chair. He folded his arms across his chest and is sleeping quietly, leaning up against the back of the chair. Maia smiles, and then look at her hands. This discourages her because she knows that she can't help Link with the Goron mines. Maia sighs and stares at the ceiling. Link slowly stirs from his place and stretches, yawning greatly.
"Exactly how late did you stay up?" Maia asks him.
He looks around, surprised that he fell asleep in the chair next to her bed.
"I have no idea," He responds sleepily. "It was a long night."
Maia sits up straight as Minda emerges from the shadows.
"Sorry about your accident, Maia. I wish I could have helped."
Maia tilts her head.
"What would you of done in my position though? I wasnt going to let Colin get run over!" Maia argues softly.
Minda shrugs. "Still, it would have been better if none of this had happened. How are your hands?"
Maia flexes her hands and frowns.
"They are very sore," she responds sadly. "I think I should be good within the next week though. Renado did a good job."
Link nods.
"Do you need anything? Food, water?" He asks.
"Some water would be nice, actually."
He nods cheerfully, gets up and proceeds out the door. Maia sits in bed and stare at the wall. He's so nice to me I wonder why. Minda has stayed behind again.
"Hmm, you know, I think I know a spell to heal your hands."
Maia looks up. "Really?"
Minda nods, frowning.
"I dont know the exact wording though, thats the bad part." She responds sadly.
"Oh, well thats alright." Maia says, forgiving her.
Minda frowns.
"This is why I wish I paid more attention to my lessons." She says, laughing.
Maia laughs too. A door shuts downstairs, and someone comes up.
"Minda, hide." Maia says quietly.
It is Renado, coming to check on her wounds.
"Hello Maia, how are we feeling today?" He asks.
His daughter comes in behind him. "Is it alright if Luda checks your hands? Shes training to become the villagers next healer."
Maia nods. "Thats fine,"
Luda bows and comes over to undo her bandages. The skin is red and inflamed. There are many holes in her skin where the splinters were. Luda grimaces, but reaches for a liquid on the counter.
"Hot spring water," She explains. "It heals you."
She pours the warm liquid over her hands, making the swelling die down instantly. It feels much better. At this point, Link walks in with a tall glass of water. He smiles at Luda and Renado, but then holds the glass, a little confused at the sight of her exposed hands.
Luda notices his confusion. "She can hold the glass now. I have healed her."
"Good! Maia, here. You got it ok?" Link says. He hands Maia the glass.
She takes it and finds that she can manage holding it easily. Maia takes a sip. The cool refreshing liquid pours down her throat, cooling her body to the tips of her fingers and toes.
"Water has never tasted so good in my life. Thank you Link, Luda." Maia nods to both of them, grateful for what they have done to help her. "And thank you Renado, for last night."
Renado nods. "It was not a problem."
Maia smiles. "Thank you."

After another day of rest, Maia's hands are completely healed. As a get well soon gift, Link bought Maia a sword. She spars with him regularly, and her sword skill is getting better everyday. She is now sparring with him in a small clearing in the corner of the town, training with sticks. Maia spins and brings her stick up to meet his. He pushes it away, and aims a blow at her leg. She dodges, and then comes in for a trick attack. She swings her stick down as if to hit him on the head, but at the last second, she turns it and try to hit his side. He falters, and she hits him lightly on the side. He falls to the ground in mock defeat. Her stick is at his throat. He looks at the end of the stick with a surprised look on his face.
"Good job, Maia. I had no idea you could fight like that," He says, panting. "But you left yourself open!"
"Wha-?" Maia starts.
He trips her with a quick kick of his foot. Maia stumbles, and falls over. He gets up and brings his weapon to her throat.
Maia smirks.
"Smart," She replies.
"I'm not going to fall for my own trick, so dont try to use it on me!" Link warns.
She laughs. "I wasn't, dont worry."
Link offers her a hand. She takes it and gets up. His hand is tough and she finds it comforting in her grasp.
"When are we going to Death Mountain?" Maia asks, glancing at the red mountain, lumbering over the horizon.
"Sometime tomorrow, I believe." He responds.
Maia nods. "Okay, sounds good."
"Hey! You two! You were amazing!" Someone calls.
Maia looks to her left, past Link, and sees a man coming towards them. He is wearing brown overalls and a white tee shirt. He is also wearing a welding mask with the visor up. "Im Barnes. You might have heard about me from Renado."
Link nods. "Yes, we did. Where have you been these past few days?"
"In my shop, trying to get it back into shape Those monsters did quite a lot of damage. I was thinking, I had some extra stock in bombs, do you want them? I wont charge you for it either."
"That would be great," Maia replies. "I bet those could come in handy at some point."
Link agrees with Maia and Barnes hands over a bomb bag.
"There you go! Enjoy!"

AAHH IT'S HERE!! THE NEXT CHAPTER IS HERE!!! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!

----------------------------------------

The next day, Maia and Link set off for Death Mountain. Saying goodbye to the children, they set off up the steep trail. Maia spots a Goron standing at the top of a cliff, its eyes are half closed, and Maia doesn't think that it has noticed her yet.
"Link look, a Goron," Maia says, pointing at it.
Link looks up. "Hmm, I wonder if hes going to make me wrestle him."
Maia just barely manages not to laugh out loud, and continues. There is a steel grate that is nailed to the face of the cliff, and Maia guesswa that she will have to climb it. Maia begins the climbing, and in only a matter of minutes, she sweating heavily. Link stops for a moment about halfway up to catch his breath. Maia does as well. She rests her forehead on the grate, trying to stop panting. After a long sigh, they both manage to feel empowered long enough to start climbing again.
Finally, Maia reaches the top and rolls herself over to lie on her back. Link crawls up over the top as well. Maia looks down. Wow! Weve climbed at least three stories! Maia realizes, surprised. She scoots backwards a few inches to avoid falling off. The problem is, she's backed into the Goron.

"Ah!" Maia yells.
The Goron laughs. "Youre not supposed to be up here, puny humans! Face me!"
The Goron backs up and awaits Maia to get ready. Link stands in front of her.
"Maia, stand to the side. I have Bo's secret weapon!"
Maia jogs quickly to the side of the path, and looks Link up and down. She notices that he is wearing a pair of boots called the iron boots. They make him as heavy as a Goron, so he can face them properly. The Goron laughs, and begins to charge. Link stands his ground, and when the Goron reaches him, he simply grabs him, turns, and chucks him off the edge of the cliff.
Maia raises her eyebrows.
"Uh, ok then. Lets continue..." Maia says.
Link replaces his iron boots with regular ones, and they remuse their climb.
After hiking for about a mile, they come across a clearing. Some Gorons stand guard at caves, and Maia notices some on the upper ridges. Above her, the volcano starts to rumble and spews hot magma rocks into the clearing.
"Watch out!" Link says.
He gets in front of Maia, shield raised. Rocks clink off of the steel surface and land on the ground, glowing slightly. Maia nods her thanks and passes him when the volcano settles. Jumping down into a clearing, Maia is spotted by the Gorons. They begin to charge at her with incredible speed for their size. Maia draws her sword and charges at them. Link fights a large Goron nearby as Maia fends off one. She brings her sword down on the Gorons rocky skin and it simply clinks off. This is enough to make the Goron double over and curl into a ball. Maia remembers that on the game, she is able to hop on its back and get launched to the next ridge.
"Link, do this!" Maia calls out.
She hops up on top of the Gorons back and he launches her to a ridge. Link hits one and copies her move, landing beside her.
"How did you think of that, Maia?" He asks.
Maia taps her forehead twice.
"Triforce of Wisdom, remember?"
He laughs and they continue up the mountain, fighting Goron after Goron. They finally reach a ledge that is framed by a steel arch marked with the Goron symbol.
"This must be the Gorons main chamber." Maia says quietly.
Link nods and they proceed to go in quietly. Going through a dark tunnel, they come into a larger chamber that has some type of small arena in the center, surrounded by stands. Gorons are having conversations around it, but then one notices them. They begin to charge, and Maia tenses. There is no way that we beat them! Theres too many! Suddenly, a voice shouts from somewhere.
"Enough! Are these young ones such an opposing enemy that you all must gang up on them at once? I think not, little brothers." An aged Goron demanded from behind two imposing looking guards. He has red markings on his chest and is much shorter then the other Gorons. The older Goron steps up to call the others off, and Maia and Link step forward.

Maia looks at him.
"Looks like you'll have to beat Gor Goron to get into the mines." Maia says.
Link nods and equips his iron boots. He hands Maia the regular ones.
"Hide these, if they find out we are cheating, they wont ever let us into the mines."
Maia nods and walks away, hiding behind a boulder.
"Midna, where are you?" Maia whispers.
She appears from the shadows.
"What is it?" She asks urgently.
Maia holds out the boots.
"Hide these, please."
Midna nods and snaps her finger. The boots disappear with a flash, and Maia nods her thanks. Maia then runs out and encounters Link and Gor Goron starting their wrestling match. Maia stands nearby in hopes of the best. A Goron sounds the bell and the match begins. Gor Goron lunges forwards for Link, but he easily dodges. Link begins to push him to the edge of the arena, but Gor Goron regains his footing and pushes Link away, backing him to the edge. The elder then proceeds to push him once more, but using the trick that he used on Maia when they sparred, Link manages to trip him slightly, get behind him, and try to push him off the edge. Gor Goron turns and meets Links strength with his own, and Link is pushed back a few paces.
"Come on, Link! Show him what you've got!" Maia cheers.
Link gathers up his strength into one huge final push, causing Gor Goron to falter and then Link pushes him again, oh so lightly, to knock him out of the ring.
"Yes!" Maia yells.
Gor Goron looks up at Link, almost in horror, but smiles.
"You have proven yourself. Go forth into the Goron mines. You have earned our respect." He says in his deep, rocky voice. Link nods as two beads of sweat roll down his face. Maia throws her hands in the air and cheer, running up to him.
"Link, that was great." Maia compliments, wiping the sweat away with a corner of cloth. He smiles and they both enter the Goron mines. Gor Goron calls after them.
"Please, if you ever need anything, just ask!" Link looks back and nods and the rest of the Goron tribe bids them farewell and good luck.

Say Goodbye to This.
