Unreal 2004 problem

i have a general problem with unreal wen being run on my system. wen ever im runnin around and see someone and start shooting and dodging, the controls get stuck and my character wont stop firing or running for several seconds. and it changes depending on the way i pushed them, so its like its having a slow reaction time. it used to be small but now its getting so annoying and has killed me more than enuff times for me to have to post this. im guessing its a problem with my system having low componets that are affecting gameplay, but idk.
anyone have any problems like this in any game and may have a solution?

It's that glorious thing called LAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
If I were you, I would update your graphics, ram, and processor, which might mean getting a new motherboard as well, but as long as you pick right, it will help you a lot in the long run.

lol, right click on the shortcut and tell it to run in ME/98 mode, otherwise minimize and open task manager and change the priority it is running at until it works.

i wont need anything that drastic. i need a new graphics chip and ram, but my processor as still kickin. 3ghz doesnt die that quickly my friend.
i think tricky has an idea, run it in 98....if it supports it....idk, ill try

Yeah, if that doesn't work, CTRL + ALT + DELETE, go to processes, right click on the UT2k4 process and set the priority one step lower. That usually works. It's an issue with mouse lag. If not, do a search on a website's forums about mouse lag. Trying to find something for keyboard-sticking 'n whatever won't turn up many results. The two go hand-in-hand. Sorry about not having a specific link, but I don't like wading through Unreal forums for that.

Worth a try, I found the compatability in XP to be pretty poor though.
You could always try notching down the hardware acceleration down a single notch (display, settings, advanced) that sometimes sorts out glitches with mice and graphical acceleration..
try lowering settings aswell to minimal so that the game runs better just to see if under less strenuous conditions whether there is lag from the computer.

see te weird thing is that in JA i have put it on top settings and hi graphic stress and its run the game very cleanly, for this game, even on the lowest settings i still cant play a good ctf without running aorund aimlessly cuz i cant control wut i m doing in the game....
