Unlocking Everything in Battlefront II Requires 4528 hours or $2100

In case you weren't aware of the massive crap show going on over on Reddit these past few days, here's a brief summary -
  1. A reddit user posted that even after they paid $80 for the deluxe edition of the new Battlefront game, they still could not play as Vader. Link: Seriously? I paid 80$ to have Vader locked?
  2. With a whopping -678,000 downvotes (and growing) - EA's response
  3. EA hosted an AMA today. As I'm writing this, the AMA started over two hours ago, there are over 14,000 comments. EA has answered 3 questions so far.
Corporate greed is awesome.

Yeah, I figured something like this would come up. Doesn't make a difference to me though as 3 hours on beta was long enough for me to decide it wasn't worth it.
My new game of the year was assassins creed orgins, no regrets yet.

EA has lowered the price for Vader and Luke from 60,000 credits to 15,000. However, Dice has made the strange decision to keep credit rewards at the end of a match relatively on the same level as everyone - it doesn't matter if you won, was the best, or was the worst. It is a grind. I'm sure everyone has heard a mouthful of the lootcrate system, which in my personal opinion, should be more focused on than the hero reward system. The crate system keeps even people who bought crystals ( the superior currency bought by real money ) from getting a higher odd for greater rarities in items.

This is to substitute the lack of paid DLC or a season pass. Whether you prefer one or another, I doubt EA will go without an additional revenue outside of their profits made from units being sold.

To think that they were actually going to try to step better towards the community with free DLC...jebaited
Im just curious as to where will they draw the line.

On a good note tho, the game looks gorgeous.

Jim Sterling on youtube has several really good breakdowns of the lootbox phenomenon and the problems behind it. As above, language warning if you choose to watch the video
