Can't be done. Chat style is effected by UU interfacing with JKA directly and manipulating the data in its memory. Unlike the autoreplier, chat style is not a feature inherit to JKA so it requires an application like UU to hack the interface to achieve it.

Little bit of an old topic, but what the hay, here's a link to Ultra Utility's website if you were still interested in chat styles.
http://www.ultra-utility.com/site/
It will be under the downloads section :)
(i suggest the v16)

I appreciate it :D but I'm not a fan of UU :(

If I had been trying to solve this problem for 4 years I wouldn't be a fan of UU either.

Hi, I know this is a bit of an older topic but (not to sure about windows cause i mainly use mac) couldn't you achieve something similar to chatstyle by using macros etc.? I've already played around with this a bit and you can make a macro that emulates hitting your chat button and then instantly typing the prefixes/colors you want and then jumping to the point in the text where you'd want to type. This is far from perfect mostly cause if the game lags even slightly during that macro input you'll end up with the colors being partially typed out (so for example instead of it typing '^1III^0' it'll type '1II^') but I'm sure someone more knowledgable in coding and in this game could make something like that work without UU. (Also i'm guessing i'm not the first to think of this so sorry if its a stupid question)

Someone could make it with OpenJK/EternalJK.

Ye I've 'started' working on an ejk version that supports chatstyle but since there is no documentation of how UU works and the docu for ejk is pretty lacking I'm not sure I'll get far with it... Also i cant really code in c++ which might be the bigger problem. ^^

Heya just remembered this thread, bucky helped me make an ejk version that has chatstyle as 2 cvars you can set, it's not perfect but pretty much does what the UU feature does so if anyone is interested i can show them how to do it. ^^
