Security Protocols

This post is for JawFin.

Greetings from the School of War. The School has been around since Jedi Outcast and has dedicated itself over the years to teaching and training those willing to learn, the concepts of martial arts through the simulation of sword combat in Jedi Academy. Over the years we have had many people enjoy their time there, and others hate us for some reason or another.

The reason I am writing this is that we have recently become victim to some of the most persistent attacks on the server we have seen in the last twelve years. While our server admins have been able to temporarily patch the issue, they have not been able to stop the crashing of the server whenever the attackers get the idea to shut us down. I was told by some of the other members that you; JawFIn, have successfully put together security in the KR server that fully protects against such malicious attacks.

We are wondering if you will assist our system admins with getting our server such protection. Please reply when convenient. Thank you.

Much Respect
Azrael

Hey Azrael, it does seem the hackers leave us alone. May I ask please, where's Seto?

Both Seto and Pyro are around on a fairly regular basis. They are our system admins, and even with their combined talents, we seem to have to use the band-aid approach and keep switching ports until the attack happens again. It's a cycle by now, where we have to keep switching ports to get the server back up. Obviously that is not a solution we want to keep doing long-term.

I have managed a couple of meandering fixes here and there, but nothing I am prepared to talk about in public. I can drop you a hint or two of what appears to work for us, catch me on pm anytime, or Jawfin on Skype. Please appreciate I am a busy type person, so if you seem to be ignored its nothing personal, its just me being unfairly treated by real life! Also be aware I'll help where I can but I will not do anything which could compromise this security KR seems to have!!

I certainly understand. My aim is to reach out to you and put you in contact with Seto or Pyro to see if you can give them some suggestions they haven't come up with as of yet.
