I don't think it'd matter DSL over Cable if the firewall is built into the router.
If it's software related, can't he just disable it?

I think thats what we were trying to establish originally because at least if his router has a firewall he should be safe enough for at a short while to try without the software one..
I think what Mel meant was that DSL and Cable tend to have a different setup, DSL are liekely you may have to start setting up credentials ect if your switching between hadware from a modem to a router whereas it might not be so critical on cable.
ALthough to be honest I wasnt really sure what he was trying to say about the router
I just want to see the special 5MB big thing his dad made.

People really need basic guidelines before they post. It'd be nice to know specs of the computer, whether or not they have a router, if they have software firewalls/protection, if they have admin privileges, any error messages they get, type of internet connection...
Saying, "I can't connect to Flyff," really doesn't help. I feel like we have to drag information out that should probably be provided in the first post. No offense, I know some of you don't understand most of the details I asked for, but I'm sure you guys can manage some of the requests I made.

I wouldnt worry about it too much I think it is human nature.
You know last year a had an email from a co worker whose office was based on teh other side of England to me and it said "I think my printer has a problem but I am not sure, any ideas?".
So to Shadow and Wand maybe we should start over again so everyone can help.
give us your specs as much as poss:
Firewall software on PC
Router do you use one? if at all possible the make?
Version of windows since VITSA doesnt alllow admin priviledges so easily on admin accounts on vista.
I do not know much about the game or its bugs but hopefully we can all come to a solution.
Oh and please try to write it in some kind of understandable structure not
