im not saying that it is but has been there any changes but i mean ANY changes on the server since 11,11,2011 (o.o) that is the last day i played

It may be an issue with the port redirecting in your modem - that would account for you being able to play on servers where you join on 29071. Try turning your modem/router/hub off by pulling out its power lead from the back, wait 1 minute, then plug it back in. Give it a minute to reboot, and see what that does.

shot in the dark, but try renaming jamp (in gamedata folder) to quake3.

It is possible it may be some ban thing ET has instigated.
I have raised a ticket with them and asked.
Another possibility is that it may be some government block at your end.

Response (Mathieu Ambrois) wrote:Dear Alex,

Thank you for your contact.
For future correspondence concerning this case, please refer to the following reference number when contacting Activision Customer Support: 111124-003948

We are sorry to hear about this issue. In order to solve your problem you should try to:

# Ensure that you have no firewalls active, and that you have a direct connection to the Internet. This would include disconnecting any routers/hubs or hardware proxies.

# Further, due to the variable nature of DSL/Cable connections, it is exceedingly difficult to offer generalized information. In these situations ensure the following:
1) The TCP/IP protocol is only bound to the NIC which the internet connection relies on.
2) The IPX/SPX-compatible, NetBEUI and NetBIOS protocols are not bound to the NIC which the internet connection relies on.
3) In general, we do not advise setting up a Star Wars: Jedi Knight Academy server on a machine that is also either a NAT server (such as Microsoft's Internet Connection Sharing) or set up with ipForwarding for a Local Area Net (LAN) onto the Internet. These machines see clients on your LAN as different addresses from the Internet and thus you cannot authorize these clients.

Thank you for contacting Activision Customer Support Europe. If you have any further doubts or questions, please don't hesitate contacting us again.

Best regards
Mathieu

Jawfin wrote:government block at your end.
i dont think that it is something like that because the government here is not so advanced or so active at those stuff i mean

in america piracy is strictly forbidden

but here they dont care much about that

but still it could be so im gona check on the local forums if i can find anything

I'd say you didn't state your case correctly. He thinks you are trying to run a server, not just play the game.

ET have asked if you can ping the server.
So, do this: -
1. Click Start and pick Run, or hold down the Windows key and tap the R key.
2. In the run dialog type "cmd" and press OK.
3. In the black screen that provides type this "ping 208.43.15.254"
You will get data like this...
Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601]

C:\Users\Jonathan>ping 208.43.15.254

Obviously there will be differences, but that's the idea.

You can copy your results by clicking the C:\_ icon of the window, getting the menu go to Edit then Mark. Use the mouse to select the text, then press the Enter key. You can then paste that text into your reply here with Ctrl + V.

Let me know how you go please.

I passed that along. As you mentioned your government doesn't care about piracy they want to know if you are playing with a legal copy of JKA, so are you?

I've followed some suggestions ET have made.
Try to connect now, but note I have changed the server's port, so use
/connect 208.43.15.254:29071

If you do not do this soon though I will change the port back for I cannot leave it here.

But we couldn't get the game working for him sadly - it is something at Alex's end we suspect.
