Started working on a 3rd weapon. I will continue when I get back from work, hopefully I will have the model itself ready by then.
Also, I am looking for a way to add an "effect" to an weapon (fx), I do not know if it is possible, but I need an small sun effect (like
this)
And it will be in between the weapon. Tho I have no idea how, or even if it's possible.

atm you are only able to apply effects to the saber blade itself when its turned on and/or when you hit/parry something
i believe your trying to apply that effect for looks only yus? then that could probly be done using a shader, hard to say, need a little more info XD

It could be done with a shader, but perhaps not as effectively as you'd like. Basically, what you can do with shaders is: -
1. fade in and out
2. scroll any direction, any speed
3. apply waves to move it (like a sin wave, or triangle, square etc)
4. rotate the color palette
U can combine those effects. So perhaps scrolling it off whilst fading it out may appear to work, and using a saw-tooth wave and getting the delays right, it can snap back into position.

MALOW.... well, u do always put the by Akimoto there, which is cool... besides just cuz its inspired by someone/somethin else doesnt mean ur not the one makin them, im pretty sure there is at least one significant difference in all the weapons, maybe they all say "MADE IN Akimoto's PC," or somethin that differs them lol

lol I agree - tho I did not lie, just bending the truth - I "made the model" with 3ds max lol~
EDIT:

I doubt it can be done with a shader... I could be wrong... actually it might be possible if we do the old fasioned way.. (8 images inside eachother making it look like 3D when you move it around) I need to make a glowing star/sun thing above the Mael weapon (like the original in WoW), but I have no idea how. Or how to make the effect show up when you "put your lightsaber up" (seen some weapons that turns into fire when you use them! Probably same principle as the one I want to make, but I have no idea how)

A shader is a way of rendering an already existing image, so once your sun is in place, then you apply the shader to animate it.

Log 14. feb 2010, 09:47:
I've begun on a new weapon recommended by Zabuza. Lately I have not had much time working on it due to work & training.
I will attempt to make 4 new weapons today/tonight (after work!) to keep up with my own expectations.
EDIT:
Outline of how it will look:
EDIT2:
The model is about 99.9% complete, just need to add texturing + minor editing to avoid making it look "edgy".
EDIT3:
Completed!

By editing screenshots - putting them together and voilá.
Oh, and with alot of smudge/sharpens.

You are correct in "I did not make the TEXTURE from scratch". Google any WoW weapon for references/screenshot.
