As a Christian I believe the bible and if the bible code says something's gonna happen you bet I believe it. And I don't want anyone trying to tell me I'm wrong because it's what I believe in and no one can tell me different.. I'm stubborn like that. <.<
Anyway, I'm not gonna bore you/piss you off with the details, but all I know is that something's gonna happen, it might not necessarily be a comet, but something big.
Tbh I'm actually glad the world's going to end (supposably) and I have good reasons to be happy about it. Sure, I might not be able to grow up and get married or have a family, but to my point of view it's for the better.

For the better of mankind? Rofl.
In a way, yes thats correct. As some people (selected by the goverment) will most likely be saved. And those people will probably be more high class like doctors and rich people.
The way I see, it could be considered a step forward to our evolution.

I disagree evolution is progress and by the world spreading and growing mixing genes we are able to progress. through change and development we evolve.
I do share some religous believes and would not enforce them on anybody, everyone entitles to their beliefs et al.
But to say wipe the whole world out except leaders is a good thing is aboslutely mental.
Irrational and hypocritical if we take the view point that all humans are evil.
So for teh rest of us who go out to earn an honest life, love our loved ones and look out for one another.. we deserve to die in the face of the evil human race..

I kind of agree with Richard, even though I don't quite follow due to my wittle bwain. And no, Darfin, I don't think it's for the better of mankind, I don't think you'd understand or agree, and I'm not asking you to,
no can understand me because I r misunderstandidableness!

I'm pretty sure this is turning into a religious debate.
Bah I just wanted to hear what people thought about this.
You explain your beliefs, and move on. Don't challenge others.

Once more I will State "global warming" Is not a source of Human interference if it is then it's be about a .00027% of any co2 being made, However Studies like I posted on another post I'll find the link later proove otherwise. Don't forget, Volchanism relases a TON of Co2, Not to mention during the "Dark Ages" The sun became dead on the surface meaning no ACTIVE changes (active being sunspots, solar flares and the like) At that time the earth cooled greatly and new viruses like say The Black Death plague spawned and ran rampant. The world started to heat up again in a huge spike at the same time as the Industrial revolution, which leads scientists to believe it's our fault. However While man has been studying the sun's activities you will find out the dark ages had no sun activity for 70 years and ends somewhere near the Industial revolution in which the sun became active as if someone shocked it out of sleep it burst to life at the same time as the revolution. perhaps maybe the Sun had something to do with it? Just saying. On a side note Sunspots change magnetic polarity every 11 years, hmm odd that thats when the earth always freaks out about climate changes... And Please keep religion out of this topic, if you want to post a religions view as how you interpret it then I suppose that is okay. I am requesting that people not argue which is right or which is the wrong religion or that all religion is irrelevent. This is not a debate upon a religion it's to get a sum of what people think, If I am mistaken then by all means correct me, but any more flaming apon people's choice or beliefs I will see to is edited or deleted.

I'm with sarah, I don't like going to church, but I do beleive in the Bible.
I don't think the world will end anywhere close to 2012 because as the Bible says "No man knows the heart of God." and God knows when the earth will end, so thus we don't know. We can make educated guesses, but we can't know.

People like Bush (with Blair at his side) for example push us towards (inedvertedly) a nuclear war.
If that happens no amount of science theory or praying will un do the inevitable.
Which is given the point someone made about shoudl worlsd leaders be kept behind with great people to rebuilt humans after a disater makes me worry.
Act of Human I think comes before act of God..

You know not every aspect of the bible is something everyone to take literally.
While myself not deeply religious at all, I do find alot of comfort by a fact that the bible has provided an entire basis of our morals and general conduct.
Even modern (if you could say that) courtesy and morals have been formed from the bible. While many many people do not have anything to do with the bible these days, these moral basis have carried through.
We shouldn’t be there to judge or question someone’s believes.
The only exception I make to this is when it affects others or impends on individuals and affects other people i.e someone preaching hatred or fanatical behaviour for a negative sence.

Who is trying to do this? nobody? your the one trying to enforce us on your non beliefs.
dont believe in god, so what?
why dont people bombard your threads about what you want to do with asian culture and tell you what you like or want to do is a load of shit
see how you like it.
Learn to respect peoples decisions in life, as long as they bring you no harm.
GOing down the path of telling people what they should and shouldn't do is wrong...
clearly by your last thread you dont like it so why should others!

There is no proof. Do you not see religion is not a belief based on fact. Its a belief based on blind faith.
Ask any priest, any normal joe soap who believes in god. Their answer at the end of the day is " you just have to have faith "
Like it or not religion has fueled the human race on hundreds of different levels over the course of our existence. From inventions to war, to peace, to art.
Being religious is not a sign of mental weakness, its just a choice. Religion is also passed down in families and some people just cant escape so just grow into it.
I reckon Akimoto that in 60 - 70 years when you realise you might not have much time on this world left you'll want to seek answers for what will happen next. Unfortunately what ever happens next cant even be touched by any science. And the closest hope we have relies in religion.
Nobody will be able to convince you to believe or not believe in religion.
If you're determined to not believe only your personal experiences will have the power to change your mind.
Sorry that was off topic. But it needed to be outlined.

What is the line between beeing an anti-religion-guy and between a person that does not like the idea of religion?

It is right before you try to tell people what they belive in is false. Oposing religion is just that and no more. Once you try to force your beliefs (on all religions are wrong or whatever it is you are trying to proove) You are becoming that what you are trying to critisize are you not?
Darfin if you want it closed let me know and I'll take care of it.

"You are becoming that what you are trying to critisize are you not? "
Exactly!
Enforcing what people they shoudl and shouldnt do for faith is a down hill spiral.. and thus cause of many problems in the world today..
If you choose not to believe in this.. or that.. or anything.. thats fine its your decision.. but preaching to others about they are wrong and shouldnt do it etc isnt right..
I dont even know why after several comments that people continue to go on about it.
