1. Conducting a trial on KR1 can be a trial in its own right with how many members and none members want to watch/interrupt/comment on it.

2. As mentioned above KR SafeHaven can be used to escape the hassle of KR1, I know of a few members who leave when the server gets busy so this will be a good alternative. The server will also be strictly KR members only, that combined with the excellent map, will give a more relaxed atmosphere for members to enjoy.

3. It also introduces the new players to the server. I'm sure that some of our newer members haven't even heard of KR2, let alone played on it.

4. The map used on the server, although small, does offer some challenging terrain for training and would be perfect for a Master and 2 Padawans without being cramped in a tiny corner on KR1.

5. Admin levels are the same on KR2 as KR1, therefore admin trials and school and trials can be conducted on the server.

So basicly what that means is, people slacked off doing these things and your putting it back up like its a new set of points?

Because before i left this is what KR2 was used for. Nothing new here except that new map and a few changes in point system.

Yes Darko, this is similar to KR Academy which Sparky and myself set up some time ago if thats what your refering too? I don't know what your on about people slacking off and I have no idea where you thought that one up from. I think you may of misinterpreted our intentions and I don't know if it was intended but your post was very strong worded and not nescessary in my opinion.

Wow those are both really good maps i dont know which one i would go with. Elite academy looks a lil smaller but has nice fighting areas, while the enclave is bigger and has a more chilled atmosphere. the enlcave would be better for trials though because it has wide open dueling spaces compared to the elite academy which has never ending pits surrounding some fighting areas which might get annoying in a trial.

Ok well i've tried the first three I mentioned and have fully explored them using noclip.

Firstly The Enclave, it is as Sidious mentioned above, a very nice map although I believe it is too big for our needs, we want a fairly small map but with a nice atmosphere and unfortunatly The Enclave is a tad to big. I mean big in the way that after 10 minutes of playing on it, I managed to get myself lost about 3 times in the mazes of rooms.

Secondly Yavin Elite Academy is not to big- its bigger then I want it to be to be honest. Although I haven't ruled this one out completely because it is a very well thought out map and provides alot of the things i'm looking for. This is certainly a possibility.

The third map was Mountain Temple, its a very open map as you can see from the screenshots- alot like Arrevanous. I have however a few issues with this map. The first, is that the map is very blocky and the textures just don't do the map justice. Secondly there are not really any dedicated places for dueling, the main (and only) temple in the map is fairly dark and in my opinion does not provide a 'welcoming' atmosphere. I think the map is intended as a map for merc wars as there are various guns pickups dotted around the map, each one being behind a sandbag type bunker, obviously intended so you can hide behind. On that note, I think its safe to say that this map isn't really what we are looking for.

I will be testing the last two maps hopefully tomorrow if I get time, although its not guaranteed as I am re-decorating my room and my computer is likely to be packed away for about 3 days. If anyone would like to test any of the maps and give their opinion that would be appreciated, but so far its definatly Yavin Elite Academy that has my vote.

i think yavin elite would be the best choice from the list but i think there could be a better choice somewhere out there, im kinda bored so i might just try to find the perfect map lol.

Feel free mate, I spent about 2 hours searching jkafiles non-stop. I eventually got bored after looking at clan map after clan map after clan map. But hey, if you find a nice map, you know what to do

Ok no this wasnt strong worded.
It wasnt the academy whatever thing.
KR2 was always used for training.
Used for trials. (when server was busy)
It was always used to escape KR1 when it got too busy.
Admin level was always the same.

Well, that was before i left.

If saying slacking off is beign strong worded, its not, its pointing out something bluntly.

For the past few months (5+ months) KR2 had been set up for our TFFA teams to use and practice on. Meaning it was set on base dmgs, not password protected, in a constant TFFA mode, and no admin levels.

According to this last server configuration this new one is a complete revamp for the server, which is what Pho was talking about in the original post. After all this is the Server News forum and this is news for a server.

Is there an issue?

Some of these may be a lil big just guessing from what pho had said earlier but i only put them on there becasue they were just really good, (dont worry theres no sith council type maps).

KR2 has fallen back, got worse, and gone downhill in the past whatever amount of time.

its got a ffa area, duel area, and its got a race track, i thought it was really fun, i was on it for 2hours racing my brother and just having fights on the vehicles. i thought it would be a good map if we had clan night or just to have like a race... imo i thought this map would be great for KR2 server

For now i have returned it to ffa3 so clan members can use it, till Pho and I find a better map to use.

Which i still dont understand...I use Arrevenous 7 or whatever it's called just fine with no lag at all. Same with Star and Pho.

Right, I think now is about time I reply to this topic and update you all. I will go through every map that people have suggested in the order they were suggested in this topic. Please take note of who has been quoted so you know who suggested the map. Also anything written in italics, is me.

- This map is relatively large and personally I think it is too big. Although its size is not what ruled this map out for me, I ruled this map out because of the severe FPS problems within the map (the person that reviewed the map on JK2files also mentioned this). The FPS I got in this map was 40 and thats just about manageable, add a saber to that and it dropped to 30. If anyone feels they want to try this map out and see if they experience the same problem your welcome too.

It has two large areas, one outside, and one large temple like room which is very tall. I think size maybe an issue with this map, although im sure it could be overcome. Definately a possiblility in my opinion.

There are really only two places dedicated for dueling, the first is a rather large rock in the center of the river, which would be alright for dueling and the second is inside the temple, its a big room that would be suitable for dueling and conducting trials. An option

4. http://jediknight2.filefront.com/file/S ... usan;31102 - A very nice map (I know i'm starting to repeat myself, but meh, i'm not a map reviewer by profession ). Anyway, back to the map. The map itself maybe a tad to big both in filesize and mapsize, but it certainly offers alot of space with a variety of dueling rooms. FPS averaged around 35 for me, although in some cases it raised to 70, so not too bad (could be better). Once again, this map is certainly an option.

5. http://jediknight2.filefront.com/file/X ... mple;44260 - A nice map all around, athough as the author mentioned in the readme, if you are running JA+ as a mod you often get many missing shaders, which I did. Basically for this reason it rules the map out for being an option unfortunatly.
