yeah I knwo dont get me wrong I appreciate what you say, and for a fan of the animation I can see its appeal.. I actually like the idea and game style, with the online it has a certain originality behind it..
its just the theme itself for me, but i guess without the theme it wouldnt be what it is.. it is what is it because of the background right?
and for a DS game it does quite alot and has some scope behind it which is good.

this game looks like Smash Bro's for the DS only with popular anime/manga stars instead of nintendo classics.
Smash Bro's was fun for party play but not much else I reckon this will go the same route as that

whats wrong with DS? What other platform anyways?
I know your not talking about that overpriced PSP that I only used for emulators and GTA games right?

I wouldn't compare Super Smash Bros with JUMP Ultimate Stars too much.
I don't recall any 'solo player' on Super Smash Bros that unlocks over 300 characters
and with their own storyline for each 'planet' (anime world). Also this is -so- going beond smash bros! You can change characters inbattle - having more fun with different character abilities and so on.

Well its not like smash bros. didnt have a single player feature(cause its the only way you could unlock any characters). I would compare it to smash bros. for the simple design of its gameplay but naturaly I would think its more complex than that since it has so many characters and features.
By design of gameplay I really mean the fact that you can fight multiplayer with useable items and helpers scattered around the map. use of special attacks as well as basic melee. Now even the ability to grab the edge of the stage and double jump when needed.

I picked DS, I never even considered a PSP.. the games just do not appeal to me..
I mean Mario Kart DS.. ill admit the DS and 64 versions will never be as good as the SNES version but they are still very good games.. I think nintendos seem to be more about the games than the power/ performance.

I suppose... the Wii needs games right? from the sounds of it, I do not know anybody who is impressed with it, everyone who has one just says they are bored of what they have ..

They need a Guitar Hero for Wii.
Just came out for the 360 finally, and I got it (didn't feel like getting the PS2 version). I'm in love.

Guitar hero is great fun for parties
specially if you get the special... ermm... guitar controller what an innovation plus you can make it look like your actually playing on stage not that ive ever done that :S
Oh and ok maybe I was hasty to compare it to smash bro's its like the newer improved version with a sp mode...which I admit would increase its playability, but hate the whole tag battle features as a rule dislike tag matches as so easy to win using them once you know tag combos etc

I have 5 games for the Wii. All of which I still play. Not to mention its new so I wouldnt expect them to have that many games just yet. Now the PS3 on the other hand is just COMPLETELY lacking games. I only know of 2 (maybe3) good ones out right now and thats it.
As for this game being on the Wii (As since basically its published by nintendo so it wouldnt go anywhere else). Wii has Smash Bros. Brawl coming Not to mention with over so many characters re-creating the graphics to make it look better would take ALOT of time. If you mean port it then why port it if you can just play it on the DS which is portable.
Tag battles as a rule? From what I got from the game I think you can have tag partners (teams of 2 or even 3) with little power ups or have 1 (with maybe a support character) and have many power ups. It just depends on how you panel puzzle. So I think it balances itself out as people who only have 1 character as there battle character can even change form in mid combat from what I read.

I believe the PS3s in ability to do HDR and FSAA is a bad miss graphics wise.

wow, the naruto ones look pretty sick, exept for sakura...but who was expecting her to be great anyways

Sakura's is more true to her character which I actually like. (She was trained by the 5th hokage after all
) Her earth jutsu would also be great for combos it looks like.

*Akimoto gets Jump Ultimate Stars*
.
.
.
5 hours later...
My first impression of this game was: "... ... ..."
The japanese language was not even a problem. Use the translation (can be found in the first post in this thread)!
Also, this game is to some degree; HARD!!!!
I get 15x more angry playing JUS than when i play JKA and get DFA'd.
Also, there was a great tutorial in the beginning learning all the moves..
Akimoto's Jump Ultimate Stars' judgement:
Gameplay: 10/10 (Excellent.)
Graphics: 9/10 (Fantastic.)
Sound: 10/10 (Excellent.)
