We had a good run on this Linux box, but after a decade of updates its just died. So I'm reinstalling it from scratch, probably a long overdue event, and the server will be down until its up again!

OS reinstalled, server up.
It may go through some bouncing as I restore my automated processes and scripts.

Our facilities provider in Dallas, Equinix, has told us that the power feed that your physical machine is connected to will lose power from 8pm CDT on Aug 9 to 6am CDT on Aug 10, when the ASTS that services it is replaced (as described in our other event). Because the machine has only one power supply, this means that your service is expected to go offline for a substantial amount of this time (for possibly the entire window).

Some time next week... here's a message from NFO
Physical move early 3/30 with some downtime and a reboot wrote:

Starting at 12:01am CDT on Wednesday, March 30, we will be shutting down all hardware in Dallas in order to move it to new physical cabinets in the same building. This will cause some downtime for your service, which we will limit as much as possible but may last more than an hour.

To the extent that we can, we will attempt to gracefully shut down customer services. However, if you have an unmanaged service, we recommend that you perform an additional backup of any irreplaceable files prior to the maintenance -- though very unlikely, there is a possibility of multiple drive disk failures occurring or disk corruption due to a machine abruptly losing power.

This is a highly-scripted event that we have performed several other times. The new cabinet has an upgraded router that we have preconfigured and tested, and we have pre-mounted rails and pre-wired cables to speed up installation.

In addition to the physical move, we are upgrading our connectivity in Dallas. We will be starting with a 100G connection and expanding it to 2x100G shortly after, making Dallas one of our most DDoS-resistant options. "InterNAP Dallas" will be renamed to "Premium Dallas" in the near future because of this change.

Between 8:30am and 9:30am CST tomorrow, 12/5, we will be performing emergency router maintenance to adjust the kernel version on the router connected to our Dallas location, in order to improve performance. We expect for this to lead to approximately 15 minutes of downtime for your service. Please accept our apologies for the short notice!
