Hi so im from the mmo Aion. In Aion we do this event called a KoR tournament. Now I don't know what it stands for actually, something to do with Koreans I believe, but I know exactly what it is and how it works and have participated in tons of them. Its very simple actually and could be done in any pvp game. Note that this needs to be done in a fairly big room with no death traps. Ok so here is how it works:
First in a KoR tournament, everyone who want to be a captain roles for captain. In Aion we role numbers 1-100 but for JKA, we could flip a coin or something. Whatever 2 people roll the highest get to be captains and the rest of the players get in a straight line. The 2 captains then flip a coin or duel, or whatever, and whoever wins gets first pick. He or she then picks the first person to be on the team and they take turns picking until there are no more players. (Note captains participate in the event and can call in them selves to fight.) So obliviously there needs to be an even amount of players participating. The minimum is like 12 players though. Now note that if you are picked by a team, you will go to whatever side of the room your team is on. Next, a moderator or whoever, will explain the rules which for JKA I am going to say: No grapple, no jetpack, you can't run into the other teams crowd, no cheats or admin powers, obliviously, and only one type of saber of your choosing, (singe, duels, staff). Doing any of these will result in instant disqualification. So the captains will then [whisper] the moderator who they want to send in first, in Aion it is usually the worst player on the team. After that, the moderator will teleport the first picks in the middle of the room. Time to begin the tournament. The players will use + to ensure that they are ready. After they have both typed +, the moderator will countdown (3,2,1,go). The 2 rivals will fight to the death and note they don't send a duel request, they just fight. Now lets say your the captain and your guy dies first, you will then shout out your next player to fight and so forth. So if you have a good player, he could get a double kill, or like in Aion, even solo near the whole team. So note that the captains probably need to talk with red text, since there is only 1 cluttered chat box. Ok so lets say something really rare happens like they both die at the same time. The captains will again whisper their first picks, do the +, etc. Also, if the player you choose to fight if afk, (please don't be afk) you will send in another player. As soon as one team runs out of players to send in, the opposite team wins! Maybe they can be rewarded some how or just stick with glory since there is no currency like in Aion.
Now some ideas to possibly add to this event. KR is a saber only server, however it would be a lot more interesting, and more likely for double kills and such if there were force or mercs added to this. If so, you would pick what force build to do (light or dark), or to go merc. So that's all there is to it. This is a popular event in Aion and could easily work and be lots of fun in any other pvp game. I think if this really takes off in JKA, it could be a common thing for years to come. We could even do 1v1 tournaments, and strafe tournaments possibly.
