They are geniuses and inventors, both renowned scientists and technologists, on Debates I bring you, The World's Greatest Detective vs The aptly named Engineer of the Earth.

Bruce Wayne would come to adopt the identity of the Dark Knight near the age of twenty ( Batman: Y.1 ), after his parents were shot in front of his eyes. Wayne trained for the rest of his life to achieve physical and mental perfection, dedicating himself to Justice and the protection of his city, Gotham, and other parts of the world.

Batman is renowned in his mental abilities, as in implementing it in actual physical fights, a flawless memory retention, able to notice, analyse, and reach conclusions on the smallest details in under a second, and process information at speeds faster than most humans alive.

In physique, Batman can bench press and enforce 1000 pounds of weight, is a well edged acrobat, extremely fast on his feet, and uses his especially trained agility and stealth skills to compensate for his large frame.

Batman would achieve such things as dodging a bullet mid-flight at point blank range, solving the world's biggest mystery, flawlessly sense attackers' muscle movements with just instinct, stand on his feet after having his spine snapped, defeat Martial Arts Grandmasters, not make a sound for even Superman to hear, and break free of a coffin, buried 6 feet underground, wearing a straight jacket, posioned with Joker's toxin, posioned with other drugs that were killing him at fast speeds, and suffering from a number of infections.

Tony Stark began his journey as a protector when, as a military suppler, he discovered the horrors of his work. His heart would suffer from shrapnel piercing it, and would be forced to create a device to help stabilize it. Later he would use his genius to create technology to surround himself in, starting his use of several versions of the Iron Man suits. Stark was known as the Engineer, a title given appropriately as he could literally create nearly anything out of nothing.

Iron man would accomplish such things as creating a additional element, housing his tower with millions of security defenses, arming each of his suits to advanced levels not perceived even by the military, funding the most amount of money in the most amount of businesses at once without making a dent in his fortune, and managing to steal from S.H.I.E.l.D's information data unnoticed.

The fight will take place in Gotham, a assault by Iron Man to Batman. Batman will use his heavy armor to defend from Iron man's attacks, whereas Iron Man will have Night Vision to see in the darkness.

I have very limited knowledge on Iron Man, but I'll make some attempt at an analysis.

Physical Abilities:

Batman has incredible impressive strength, being able to support the weight of 1000lbs and able to leg press 2500lbs.

He's also a very impressive acrobatic. He's also dodged bullets from a sub machine gun at point blank range.

It's fairly obvious Batman holds a significant advantage when it comes to their natural physical abilities, however when Iron Man is in his suit, it's a much different story.

He's been able to hit speeds like mach 8.7. According to google that's 5742 miles per hour.

He's also tossed around Savage Hulk.

Outside of the suit, Batman stomps. However, if Tony has his suit, he stomps. I'm currently under the impression that Tony can win on physical abilities alone.

Physical Edge = Iron Man

Skill:

Batman could very well be one of the top 5 hand to hand combatants in the DC Universe.

He's bested the likes of Ra's Al Ghul, Lady Shiva (under mind control) and Solomon Grundy using pressure points.

Iron Man on the otherhand has bested Captain America in close quarter combat, though Captain America was injured.

Batman has a monumental advantage here, Iron Man can't really compete in terms of pure skill.

Skill Edge = Batman

Conclusion:

I don't think I need to go any further. Although Batman is an incredibly skilled individual, I don't think he could ever get through Iron Man's armour, even with his gadgets, at least not in a random encounter. Iron Man's suit really does win it for him, sadly. As much as I hate to say it, I think Iron Man wins.

Winner = Iron Man

It's iron-ic that 'iron'man can fly but 'bat'man can't. While that Jar Jar image is disturbing (xD) I have to side with Ironman as well. Batman's only hope is to cut the electricity in the whole town so Ironman can't recharge his suits (or just enough to recharge Stark's iPhone).

Or using eletricity against the armor, maybe shocking it could help, I don't know.

I think it's safe to assume that if these two ever plan to go against each other, the fight will (at least partially) lead to a full-fledged R&D / technology war, and the result will depend heavily on who comes up with a cooler gadget. But while Stark can do all those high techie stuffs by himself, Wayne can't without the help of Fox.

If Batman can use Fox in the fight, Stark should be allowed to have someone to help him as well (I don't know, for example Hulk?), and it can easily lead to DC vs Marvel. So I say Ironman will have an edge even in those tech-related issues.

iron man takes him to a worm hole and then drops an atomic bomb in, but space is dark and batman is dark knight so he evades it and go back, both fall down and end in a hospital solving the battle playing monopoly with reality

In the avengers movie, Thor shoots iron man with a bunch of lightning and all it does is super charge iron man's suit for his next attack
