Hi all.
I have everything to install and play Star Wars ( Big thanks to Lessa ), but i still have one problem... I dont know password on my computer.. Kane said something about keylogger or someting about that and i really hope that somekind of program exist. Cant wait, when i will be back in JKA between you all =)

I dont think key logger of any type is going to be a good idea whatsoever. Your likeley to get yourself into even more trouble or your parents.. Imagine i they are shopping online all their bank details or card numbers could bee logged and cloned

Key loggers are a massive security risk with something like that if it gets into the wrong hands.

Unfortunetaley passwords are passwords and its not as easy as that to just flick a switch..

There are ways however to reset a password through many devious methods but changing your parents password is going to make them very suspicious

I do genuinly think your going to have a hard time doing this and going undetected sorry

Yeah its his windows user account password I know older versions of windows used to store all passwords somewhere, but other than guessing it now I cant see any other way to get hold of the password.

Even if you did find the place it was stored it would be near enough impossible to get the actual pass - reason being because it will be encrypted to prevent your computer from being compremised. If you want to get past the windows logon, just start the computer in safe mode.

Ya the encryption is a lot more complex than it used to be, but on a matter I was under impression installing programs in safe was was unable to be done?

No, but what im saying is. You could change the password to windows. Or make your own account.

....although (sorry cant help myself) for a password change dont you typically need to know the previous password for security reasons. But the second account might be a way to proceed foreward although removal of the new account might be needed in order to avoid suspicion being raised. If so you think the installation of program would carry over into the primary account. never been good with managing multiple user accounts on one PC.

Guys, if i change password or make new account, i will can say : Bye computer... I am trying to get known password on my account. Parents are being often out of home and often time they off my computer... I dont know any way to get known damn password on my computer...

Too bad... But i have one trick, whitch works, when parents arent angry. I am downloading films by Bittorent. It worked sometimes, it shall work these times... Thank you all, it is very pity that some kind of program doesnt exist. Thank you, who wanted to help me, I am proud of you.

No you cannot create a new account without the correct permissions even on XP home which has most of the Seurity pruned from teh pro version..

I think its clear the only options you have available are not ways which can go undetected.

Unfortunateley XP inherited the path of windows NT and 2000 which are network security structre which is why kane might have been thinking of the old windows 98 password system which was a joke.

I think its a clear cut answer Sirion, it cannot be done, and if you use some form of hack to change password you will be caught..

i was too lazy to read all of the responses, but i know one of my friends has a program that can reset the admin password on a computer. You could make a new admin pass, and have fun then

the admin pass should allow u to log onto any account, its the password for overriding the whole computer, its shouldn't change theirs

no admin pass is for admin account and access to the SAM not user accounts as user accounts passwords match the hashkey stored in teh local SAM

and the disk imaging file software which does affect legit securerom and encrypted software CDs and firewall entires... now that alone may not seem the end of the world but it will instantly trigger suspision

tbh it is his perogative but doing this undetected is going to be hard.

However if it was me I woudlnt want to send me passwords over the net for decryption..

Its up to him but there are implications he needs to consider.

actually a better idea is rather than run everything in the admin account use the little trick built into 2000 and xp for admins to run under a non admin account the run as command

on an executable run hold SHIFT and right click "run as" fill in the credentials and ur away.

Edit I just dont want teh poor lad to get caught if his parents find out his password has been relayed over the net using a method like that, he might be up for a serious punishment.

either way, my friends program can get through any password on a comp... i don't know exactly what it is... i was playing halo at the time... but yeah...

I know the password on my computer now So must just get CD 1 ( as i cant install Daemon ), make an alchohol file and then play with ya ^^
