I have downloaded this one map named "Atlantica", and dispite the non-creative name, the map is extreamly amazing. The map is an underwater Jedi Academy/temple, which has many doors, rooms, and secrets. This map is highly recommended by me because of the way it looks. It takes a while to load, but it has no lag what so ever when playing the actual map. As I mentioned earlier, this map looks amazing, the entire thing just looks beautiful in a Star Wars way. The water on the upper section to the entrence of the academy is swim-able, so you don't die like you do in most maps, which I like very much. A cool thing in this map, is Moving and/or talking NPC's, and once in a while a Lambdashuttle or X-wing come by and drop off more NPC's. Now that, is cool. So due to the npc's, the map never seems boring, and never feels empty. This map also holds a room where you can be teleported into a mini-game, made to recreate the gameplay of Metal Gear Solid. This map has many rooms and hidden places which I think is pretty cool. Here is the map:

Here are some screenshots from the page incase you don't want to click it just yet:

I got this map a while back, during a stint when I had nothing to do so I downloaded maps and played them. I was absolutely astounded by the sheer amount of work that went into it. It's an enormous map, with all sorts of secrets and such. There's even an rpg version as I recall where you have to complete certain tasks to level up which will in turn give you access to new parts of the map. I had an amazing time exploring it and highly recommend it. (you will get lost...a lot :P )

looks pretty awesome. i get leery around custom maps, because lately many are in the "go big or go home" mentality. unfortunately, this engine is old, and doesn't scale too well. it's not optimized for the kind of expanses we expect now-a-days, and if it's not handled properly, it'll render horribly on many machines (even modern ones). if it weren't for that reason, i'd think we'd see a lot more custom maps on our server.

Oh man, the nostalgia, I checked that map out ages ago, I think when I was still in the Destroyers. It is an awesome map :)
